They Will Defend Their Own

If your a news junky like me - you have been glued to cable news, the radio or CNN's Pipeline over the past few weeks. Unrest in the Middle East is old news, but with terrorism being the fear of everyone around the world and Israel's refusal to be moved by it seems to have caught the attention of the world - even the Arab world.

When the cause of this latest war happened I was in East Africa. When I heard that an Israeli soldier had been kidnapped I knew that this story would not soon fade away from the "Headline News". After a second soldier was kidnapped I started to wonder if my journey home via London would be a hassle. It was just a matter of time before the likes of a war would fill the news.

I've heard Lebanese say that Israel is to blame for all of the displaced and dead Lebanese over the past two weeks. They have said that Israel only wants to occupy their land. But let's be real. History has showed us that Israel - unlike the U.S. before our current government- does not allow attacks against itself in anyway to go unpunished.

It's a tragedy to see so many people killed, wounded and displaced, but if you ok terrorist to operate in your country then you open yourself to suffer at the hand of those who are not afraid to fight back.

I don't think anyone wants to see a battle or war in the Middle East, but no government can honestly say to Israel, "you must sit quietly while terrorist attack you. The only half baked government that would consider saying such things are those who despise Israel or the pretense U.N.

Lebanese citizens should stop pointing the finger at the country to the south and point the finger at the terrorist that lives among them. Hezbollah is acting in a selfish and heartless manner with little concern to the innocent lives around them that are being destroyed. The world can't forget who started this whole gun blast, building crumbling, life taking battle. Hezbollah!
