The Political Shame of the Republican and Democratic Parties...Just My Opinion
I can remember the words of my mother telling me to be careful pointing my finger at someone else's wrong because there was three pointing back at me. Americans, both citizens and politicians alike, have worn out the game of "It's your fault! No, it's your's". Everyone is pointing shriveled little fingers at an opposing party or segment of society while ignoring the fingers pointing right back at us. We have become political nutcases, with certificates in Google Research from Google Community College. The knowledge that many of us have acquired is nothing more than McCarthyism ramblings of passed around theories we have gathered from fictionalized memes manufactured by brilliant comedians who are enjoying the pathetic humor of Americans exalting ourselves in our depraved unrecognized ignorance.
The ills of America can equally be blamed on Republicans and Democrats, Religious conspiracist and anti-religious freethinking souls alike. For over two hundred years both parties have twisted and turned on their platform and doctrine, mostly at the expense of ethnic minorities and women. Both are guilty of national sabotage. Both have been unpatriotic and disgraceful in their ideas and practices at various times. Neither can point a finger at the other party and accuse them of treason or injustice without being found guilty of committing some sort abomination themselves. Each party has bought and sold at the cost of their soul. Each party has ignored the Ten Commandments at some point to cash in on a deal for the sake of the party. Each party has found their way into the back pockets of the religious community, since 1854. Each at some point appeared to be the saving grace of minority communities and then shooting a deadly arrow in the back of the unsuspecting.
It isn't the political parties that are the villains, as much as it is the citizens who have defined those parties. You and I have helped to feed the little creatures until they became a vile beast, ripping and tearing away at decency. There are no politicians without citizens. Unstable citizens breed dangerous and unskilled politicians. It is only those few, who are often punished and drowned, who are able to mature into true representatives of the people and stand as a statesman or woman in the midst of unlearned egotistical adolescence who live and work in our nation’s capital. The tragedy is too many politicians have become intoxicated by the perception of power, serving self greed, and the interest of those who hold the banknotes.
The Reconstruction era taught us no party is true to its declaration of independence but rather to the auctioneer and the highest bidder. So what do we the citizens do to correct our problem?
