You Are What They Need, But...

It is very important that a leader understand those that serve them and those they serve. It is even more important to understand those who serve closest to the leader.

One of the most important aspects of being served and serving is knowing that many times there are people who are excited to be a part of the team because they know that you have what they need. But do they have what you need?

It is possible for a leader to mistaken what they need with what they want. Want only covers the surface, while need reaches deep into the vision and produces without great strain to the leader.

Time will expose whether a leader's team is comprised of those who mainly meet what is wanted or what is needed.
