The Immaturity of Social Media and Her Children

I am a big fan of social media for several reasons. The main reason is that I have many friends who live thousands of miles away in other countries. Yet, thanks to the many forms of social media, our relationships have grown. In fact there are relationships that were forged thanks to social media.

However, I have seen how social media can have the opposite effect on some people. A tool that has the ability to bring perfect strangers together as friends can also be used to breakup relationship with very little thought of each other.

Social media has created a new breed of spoiled adults (and teens) who behave like socially deprived street children. Instead of fostering and nurturing relationships with others, this group has taken to disgarding people like prepaid burner phones. Some individuals throw relationships away, not because a person acts in a disrespectful manner, but because they simply disagree with them on a certain issue. They virtually kick and scream at each other. Instead of engaging in the discussion, with the possibility of learning something or about others, they throw jabs and try to throw the hardest insult.

Many human-beings have become disgusting immature little brats who are incapable of engaging in serious discussions. Social media has amazingly deprived humanity of a thing called maturity.

There should be a stipulation when signing up for a new social media account...for mature individuals only.
